Fresno: A City Reborn – 1968 Documentary

I recognize that many have already seen this video and thanks go to Bryan Harley for getting the full thing uploaded.  I had the chance to watch the full video this week.  If you haven’t seen this documentary its worth taking a look at.  I had posted a much shorter clip in a previous post but this longer version of the 1968 documentary is much better.  Hard to believe  that 42 years later, many of the same issues still plague us.

Enjoy!

  1. I'm so glad the full version is up. I saw it down at the Fulton Mall last summer, but I've wanted to watch it again. It was awesome because I brought my mom and grandma and they kept giving their commentary throughout- my mom was all 'Hey, I remember having to jump over those sidewalks because they were pouring cement!”

Bryan Harley is to thank for that! Super interesting how sprawl was identified as a problem in the 50's but there clearly was not enough will power to contain it. We are paying for it now more than ever.
